On the Madurai Food Trail

Madurai is not just a temple town, it is also a food town! The city is famous for its many eateries, serving a wide range of lip-smacking cuisine. Come join us on this Eat-a-thon, as we sample many of the legendary delights of the city.

When: All days of the week, in the late evening

Tour Notes: Please note, the food on the street is delicious but does not meet national or international hygiene standards. Although we only go to very popular places with good local reputations, where food is freshly cooked and served, there are no guarantees against a stomach upset. In the markets, please ask permission if you are photographing people. Please note there are no toilets in this area, not even in the cafes.
